Improving Animal Welfare in Arizona: The Four Paws and Friends Mission

At Four Paws and Friends, we are more than just a nonprofit organization. We are a community of animal lovers, dedicated to improving the welfare of animals in Arizona. Our mission is to provide support and resources to animal shelters and rescue organizations, and to promote responsible pet ownership. We believe that every animal deserves a loving home, and we work tirelessly to ensure that all animals are treated with compassion and respect.

Our Core Programs

Our initiatives span four core areas, each designed to make a significant impact on the lives of animals and their owners:

1. Shelter Enrichment:

We fund enrichment items that enhance the well-being of animals living in shelters across Arizona. By providing toys, comfort items, and environmental enhancements, we help to reduce stress and improve the quality of life for these animals as they wait for their forever homes.

2. Grants for Medical and Training Expenses:

We understand that the cost of medical treatments and behavioral training can be a barrier for many people considering adopting a pet. That's why we offer grants to rescues and adopters of shelter pets, helping to ensure that these animals receive the care they need and the chance at a happy, healthy life. 

3. Assistance for Veterinary Medical Expenses:

Veterinary care can be expensive, and we believe that no pet owner should have to choose between their financial stability and the health of their beloved pet. We provide financial assistance to pet owners struggling with costly veterinary expenses, including consultations, diagnostic tests, surgeries, and medications.

4. Microchip Clinics:

One of the most effective ways to ensure a lost pet can be returned to its owner is through microchipping. We host events at which we offer free microchips, collars, and tags to pet owners in need. This not only helps to reunite lost pets with their families but also reduces intake at municipal shelters.
